Goldwind Americas, a unit of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology, has signed an agreement with Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES) to purchase the 160MW Rattlesnake Wind Project in McCulloch County, Texas, the US.
The project, once operational, will become Goldwind’s largest wind project in the US.

Goldwind Americas CEO David Halligan said: "This investment in the Rattlesnake Wind Project highlights our long-term commitment to the US wind market and represents our first step of a five-year growth strategy to capitalize on the extension of the production tax credit."
Located around 125 miles northwest of Austin, the Rattlesnake Wind Project will make use of 64 Goldwind 2.5 MW Permanent Magnet Direct-Drive (PMDD) wind turbines.
This wind project is the first phase of an expected 300 MW wind project to be constructed by RES under a balance of plant agreement.

Goldwind Capital is a unit of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology. It offered bridge financing to purchase the project.
