Spanish wind power company Gamesa has secured a contract to supply total 33MW turbines for five wind farms currently being developed by UK-based REG Windpower.
Last year, Gamesa received the contract for 8MW and in the first quarter of this year it signed a contract 25MW totaling it to 33MW.

The company will be installing 17 turbines with the capacity of 2MW as well as carrying out maintenance service for the next ten years.
Gamesa will install 2 G97-2.0 MW wind turbines at Rodbaston wind farm located in central England; 2 G80-2.0 MW at French Farm, placed in Eastern England; 6 G87 at Mynydd Portref in South Wales; 4 G80-2.0 MW at Mynydd Brombil, also located in South Wales, and three G80-2.0 with a rated power at 1.66 MW each in Brackagh Quarry, a wind farm placed in Northern Ireland.
The company will be delivering these 17 wind turbines by second half of this year and the wind farms would be operational few months later.
Gamesa has been present in the UK since 2005, and it has installed nearly 500 MW and also carries out there maintenance service.

By GlobalDataIn March, Gamesa had won an order from Rafisa to build a 70-MW wind farm in Uruguay.
Rafisa, a trustee of the Financiero Arias Trust, is backed and managed by a government-owned utility company UTE.
The deal will see Gamesa supply, deploy and commission 35 G114-2.0 MW turbines at the Colonia Arias wind farm in Flores.
