
Spanish company Gamesa has signed a deal with to ScottishPower Renewables to supply 239 MW turbines to its Kilgallioch wind farm in southern Scotland.
ScottishPower Renewables will invest £300m in the project and after full operation, it will supply power to 130,000 households.

Gamesa will supply, transport, and install 94 units of G114-2.5 MW turbines, and two units of G90-2.0 MW turbines for the project.
The G114-2.5 MW turbines consist of a longer blade and are designed for class II wind speed sites.
Gamesa G114-2.5 MW turbines can also produce 29% more power than the G97-2.0 MW model while cutting down energy cost up to 10%.
The company is expected to deliver the turbines in February 2016 with full operation of the site expected by 2017.

Gamesa has installed and maintains over 450 MW, since 2005 in the UK.
ScottishPower Renewables CEO Keith Anderson said: "Kilgallioch windfarm will become our second largest windfarm in the UK and this year marks a real milestone as we approach 2 GW of installed onshore wind capacity – enough to power over 1 million homes."
