Gamesa has received two contracts to supply 290MW for wind farms in US and Mexico.

Under the first contract, awarded by EDP Renováveis (EDPR), Gamesa will provide 95 G114-2.0MW turbines for the Waverly wind farm in Coffey County, Kansas, US.

Designed to maximide the performance of turbines installed in less windy sites, the G114-2.0 MW wind turbine is part of the company’s 2.0-2.5MW platform.

The Waverly project is part of the framework agreement signed between EDPR and Gamesa for the supply of up to 450MW in the US through 2016.

Scheduled to be delivered in the third quarter of 2015, the turbines will feature Gamesa’s MaxPower package of hardware and software modifications to boost the power output of the turbines from 2.0MW up to 2.1MW.

The Waverly wind farm is due to be fully commissioned by the end of 2014.
