Renewable energy developer Gamesa has sold a 74MW wind farm in Oaxaca, Mexico to Grupo México, the Mexican mining, construction and logistics firm.

The facility, which has been developed and constructed by Gamesa, features 37 of its G80-2.0 MW turbines.

Gamesa will be operating and maintaining the wind power plant for five years, as per the sale agreement.

Expected to power 7,500 households annually, the facility will generate 4% of Mexico’s total installed wind power.

The facility was commissioned in the first quarter of 2014 in Oaxaca, which is one of the windiest regions in the country.

Gamesa claimed that this agreement further strengthens its leadership position in Mexico, where, in addition to developing and on-selling wind farms, it supplies, installs and services wind turbines.
