Enel Green Power (EGP) has started the operations on the 100MW Dominica II wind farm at San Luis Potosi in Mexico.
The project is an extension to the already operational Dominica I project, which also has capacity to generate 100MW energy.

Enel Green highlighted that Dominica II can generate more than 250GWh per year which is enough to meet the requirements of 143,000 Mexican households.
The project will also reduce up to 140,000 tons of CO2 emission into the atmosphere
Located in the municipality of Charcas the project will consist of 50 wind turbines with each having 2MW capacity.
EGP said that has invested around $160m in the construction of Dominica II, and the project is in line with the growth targets set out by the company’s current business plan.

By GlobalDataEnel Green Power said in a statement, "The investment has been partially financed through a loan agreement with Banco Santander and covered by the Spanish Export Credit Agency ("CESCE"). Dominica I and II are supported by long-term PPAs for the supply of energy."
Both Dominica I and Dominica II together can generate over 510 GWh per year.
EGP highlighted that it has installed capacity in Mexico now reaches close to 500 MW.
