As per the estimate of US Energy Information Administration, the facility will produce electricity sufficient to power the equivalent of 138,000 average households in New Mexico.

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies, the facility is expected to reduce around 725,000t of new greenhouse gas emissions annually.

EDF Renewable energy executive vice-president Ryan Pfaff said: "EDF RE is pleased to have commenced commercial operation of the Roosevelt Wind Project – our first facility in the business-friendly state of New Mexico, and would like to thank the residents of Roosevelt County and surrounding areas for helping us reach this important milestone.
