China Sunergy will be supplying 81MW of poly-silicon solar cells to Solar Park Korea.

China Sunergy Nanjing, which is a subsidiary for the China based solar power manufacturer, has secured the agreement for the firm.

Solar Park Korea will use the solar cells for solar module production and downstream applications.

The South Korean firm, which started operating from 2008, plans to expand its power generation capacity from the current 600MW to 1.2GW.

Solar Park Korea CEO Hyunwoo Park said: "After significant due diligence and evaluation of solar cells providers, we concluded that China Sunergy, with its ability to deliver the highest quality solar cells at competitive prices, is the best choice for our needs.
"We look forward to closely working with China Sunergy in our global expansion."

China Sunergy chairman and CEO Tingxiu Lu said: "We believe that the combination of our diversified product offerings, continual conversion efficiency improvements, and worldwide distribution reach provides a strong platform for both parties’ global business development."
