CPV Renewable Power, an affiliate of Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), together with investment partner Harrison Street Asset Management, has started commercial operations at the 114MW CPV Rogue’s Wind project in Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
The wind farm is CPV’s third operational facility in Cambria County, joining CPV Fairview Energy Center and CPV Maple Hill Solar.

Developed on land previously used for coal mining, CPV Rogue’s Wind is part of CPV’s ongoing focus on redeveloping brownfield sites.
The project, which occupies more than 6,000 acres, was built in cooperation with private landowners and is sited alongside the Rock Run Recreation Area, an ATV park offering 140 miles of trails. The location allows visitors to access the base of the wind towers.
CPV Rogue’s Wind is expected to provide enough electricity to support around 32,000 households, with annual CO₂ emissions reductions comparable to removing approximately 29,000 cars off the road.
The total investment in the project is reported as $300m and includes benefits for both Clearfield and Cambria counties.
Construction was managed by White Construction, which used local contractors, while Logisticus Group handled the delivery of 19 Vestas V-162 wind turbines.
CPV CEO Sherman Knight said: “Alongside our existing natural gas-fired and solar facilities in the county, Rogue’s Wind underscores CPV’s commitment to developing the diverse energy infrastructure needed to support growing demand while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.”
Tax equity financing for CPV Rogue’s Wind has been secured with U.S. Bank, with Marathon Capital acting as adviser.

CPV Rogue’s Wind not only repurposes former coal mining land but seamlessly works alongside an existing ATV park, promoting the natural features of the region.”
CPV Rogue’s Wind is now part of CPV’s portfolio of five operating wind and solar projects, in addition to a development pipeline of 4.8GW including solar, wind and battery storage.
