Ohmium International and Hynfra have entered into a master cooperation agreement to progress green hydrogen projects in Mauritania, Jordan and Oman.
Based in the US, Ohmium designs, manufactures and deploys modular, scalable proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers for cost-competitive green hydrogen production.

Hynfra, on the other hand, is a Poland-based system designer, technology integrator and developer focused on large-scale green hydrogen and green ammonia projects.
The agreement between the parties is set to cover the front-end engineering and design (FEED) phase and create a structure for continued collaboration on these initiatives.
As part of the arrangement, Ohmium will supply technical support and provide its expertise in modular PEM electrolyser technology during both the FEED and development stages for the three projects.
Hynfra will contribute project development and regional experience in pursuit of large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The hydrogen produced is intended for use in green ammonia applications. The projects aim to enhance host countries’ energy security and resilience by developing domestic supplies of clean energy and reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels.
The plan also includes supplying Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO)-compliant green ammonia to external markets, including Europe.
Ohmium CEO Markus Tacke said: “Our master cooperation agreement with Hynfra is an exciting milestone as we expand into the Middle East and Africa.
“Hynfra brings deep expertise and a bold vision for large-scale green hydrogen development, and together we will advance these projects to unlock green hydrogen and green ammonia production at scale.
“This agreement reflects the growing global momentum for green hydrogen development and our commitment to playing a pivotal role in that growth.”
The Middle East and Africa have been noted for their abundant renewable resources and proximity to major demand centres, making the regions increasingly prominent in green hydrogen investment.
For Mauritania, Jordan and Oman, expanding domestic green hydrogen and green ammonia production can support energy independence, economic diversification and stronger resilience to swings in global energy prices.
Hynfra CEO Tomoho Umeda said: “We work with multiple technology partners across our green hydrogen and ammonia projects, and we maintain at least two qualified suppliers for each technology category. That’s a deliberate choice, and it reflects the complexity of what we’re building. Ohmium is one of our PEM electrolyser partners.”
