Fluor Corp has constructed a polysilicon plant for LDK Solar in Xinyu City, China, to produce solar-grade silicon for the photovoltaic industry.

Flour provided engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and management services for the plant, in addition to completing the construction of the three production lines.
LDK Silicon & Chemical Technology Company president and chief executive officer Goran Bye said Fluor’s project execution was exemplary and the team responded to changing circumstances in a timely and professional manner while exhibiting the discipline to keep the project on schedule.

The facility will produce polysilicon, a material consisting of small silicon crystals.
