Vestas has secured a contract to supply turbines and maintenance services to a 39.6MW Alba Rivas wind power plant for the Alba de Nicaragua.

The wind project located in Hacienda La Fe, Rivas, Nicaragua, will use 22 turbines of V100-1.8MW and is expected to generate about 180GWh of energy every year.
Alba de Nicaragua CEO Francisco Lopez said the company has selected Vestas as supplier for its first wind farm in Nicaragua.
"We trust that Vestas will deliver the best solutions with high-quality service and professionalism," Lopez added.
Vestas South America vice president Marcelo Tokman Ramos said this new order, which confirms the continuous positive trend of wind power development in Nicaragua.

Vestas Wind Systems chief sales officer Juan Araluce said the company is focused on developing new business opportunities in the Latin American markets and this project is a good example of this goal.

As a part of the contract Vestas will supply and commission the turbines, a VestasOnline Business SCADA system, and also provide five-year AOM 4000 maintenance and service agreement.
The AOM 4000 is a full scope service contract which will include planned and unplanned maintenance services and consumables to offer risk management guarantee to assure performance and to avoid unforeseen operational costs.
