The photovoltaic (PV) power plant will be located in the Imperial Valley, south central California and is expected to create many local jobs.
Abengoa will design the plant which will reduce carbon emissions, generate clean energy, and result in fuel savings in accordance with its philosophy on sustainability.
Abengoa has reached agreements with many local firms to promote the economic development of the region and is expecting to create about 150 direct jobs during the design and development stages of the plant, as well as create jobs with local subcontractors.
The plant is scheduled to be completed in 18 months of time and is schdeuled to be in operation during the second half of 2013.
