Acciona has secured a contract to supply 34 wind turbines for the 102MW South Canoe wind farm, situated in the Nova Scotia province, Canada.
Under the contract, which was awarded following a rigorous selection process, the company will provide AW3000/116 turbines of Acciona Windpower technology, each with a capacity of 3MW, hub height of 92m, and a rotor diameter of 116m.

It will also carry out the construction, internal electrical infrastructures and assembly, as well as undertake the operation and maintenance of the facility.
The wind farm, which is claimed to be the largest in Nova Scotia, is being developed by three companies Oxford Frozen Foods, Minas Basin Pulp and Power and the Nova Scotia Power, to which the output will be sold.
The facility, which will generate enough energy to power around 32,000 homes, will help the Nova Scotia province reach its renewable energy targets.
Acciona Energy North America CEO Ilya Hartmann said the company intends to apply full range of wind energy services for providing best value to the project.

Acciona, as an owner, is also participating in three more Canadian wind farms including Magrath and Chin Chute in Alberta (both 30MW) and Ripley in Ontario (76MW).
