Spain-based wind turbines manufacturer Gamesa has signed an agreement with Banco Santander to jointly develop several wind farms totaling 500MW capacity in Mexico.
As per the agreement, Gamesa will be responsible for the development and construction of the wind farms along with the supply and installation of all wind turbines.

The wind power projects will be constructed in the Mexican state of Oaxaca during the next three years.
According to Gamesa, the wind farms will be developed under the self-supply regime and under the framework of Open Season II that is being led and coordinated by the Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission and the Federal Electricity Commission.
In Mexico, the company operates wind power projects that have a total installed capacity of over 1,000MW.
Besides in February 2014, Gamesa has signed an agreement with Swedish wind farm developer Eolus Vind for the supply of four of its G114-2.0 MW turbines.
