Spain-based Gamesa has signed an agreement with CGN Wind Energy to provide wind turbines for 49.3MW wind farm to be built in Shandong province, China.

Following the agreement, Gamesa will install and commission 25 G97-2.0 MW wind turbines for the Chengdingsha wind farm project.

The wind farm is expected to be operational by the end of year 2014.

The G97-2.0 MW class III wind turbines, which are part of 2.0-2.5MW platform, are specifically designed for low-wind sites, Gamesa noted.

Gamesa said that it has already supplied wind turbines to around 206MW projects in the region.

The company has provided 106MW turbines for CGN’s projects in Shandong, Liaoning and Heilongjiang province, since 2009.
