EDF Renewable Energy has begun operations of the 5.86MWp Lancaster solar project in the US.
In October 3013, EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) signed a membership interest purchase and sale agreement (MIPSA) with Urban Green Technologies (UGT), a utility-scale solar developer, and subsequently started the construction phase in December 2013.
Featuring 19,000 Canadian Solar modules, the ground-mount fixed tilt solar photovoltaic project is located on approximately 30 acres of privately owned land at the former Shirley Airport, 50 miles northwest of Boston, Massachusetts, US.
The electricity generated by the project will be supplied to the Town of Billerica, Massachusetts as part of a long-term power purchase agreement.
EDF Renewable Services is responsible for long-term operations and maintenance for the facility, balance of plant, project oversight, and 24/7 remote monitoring from its NERC compliant Operations Control Center (OCC).
Renewable projects are managed by EDF Renewable Services’ Operations Control Center (OCC) across North America.
