MHI Vestas Offshore has awarded a contract to 3sun Group to complete electrical and mechanical works of 73 V112-3.0MW turbines for the installation at the 219MW Humber Gateway offshore wind farm in the UK.
As per terms of the contract, 3sun will provide teams of technicians to complete offshore mechanical and electrical works of the wind turbines.
3sun will undertake the works from its bases located at Grimsby and the company expects to take about 14 weeks to complete the contract.
The wind farm is being developed by energy firm E.ON UK in water depths of about 15m.
Located 8 km east of Spurn Point off the coast of the East Riding of Yorkshire, in the North Sea, England, the wind farm will cover an area of around 25km².
The wind farm will generate enough energy for about 170,000 homes in the UK.

The first turbine at Humber Gateway was installed in July 2014 and the project is expected to be completed in spring 2015.
