Wind energy firm Polenergia has selected Vestas Wind Systems for the 48MW Mycielin wind power project in Poland.

Under the deal, the Danish wind equipment manufacturer will deliver, install and commission 24 of its 24 V110-2.0 MW turbines at the facility.

Delivery of the wind turbines has been scheduled by the third quarter of 2015.

Commissioning of the turbines is likely to be done by year-end.

Polenergia vice president Michal Kozlowski said: "It is an important step towards achieving Polenergia’s goals in wind energy development. We are happy to work with Vestas as a turbine supplier again."

Vestas Northern Europe president Klaus Steen Mortensen said: "We are happy to be chosen as the wind turbine supplier and service provider for this wind power plant and to consolidate our market leadership in Poland."

Vestas has also signed a five-year service agreement (AOM 5000) and will offer VestasOnline Business SCADA solution for the facility.

The power manufacturer maintains a portfolio of 1200MW energy generation in Poland with over 570 wind turbine deliveries. More than 30% of wind installations in the country have been done by Vestas.
