German company Siemens has won an order from Apex Clean Energy for supplying wind turbines for 299MW Kay Wind project in Oklahoma, US.
Located in Kay County, the project will house 130 of Siemens’ SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines.

The project has been scheduled to be commissioned this year.
Under the terms of the contract, Siemens will be supporting the installation of the turbines at the facility after supplying them.
The German firm also agreed to offer for remote monitoring and diagnostic services for the facility under a long-term service and maintenance agreement.
Southern Company subsidiary Southern Power has signed an agreement with Apex Clean Energy to acquire the project after it is completed.

By GlobalDataThe project will be able to supply enough power for 100,000 average homes every year after it is commissioned.
Apex president Mark Goodwin said: "Apex is pleased to be working with Siemens to bring the benefits of affordable, renewable energy to Oklahoma and Kansas.
"This project will help boost the Kay County economy and support local schools, while helping to reduce rates for energy consumers in the SPP system (Southwest Power Pool)."
