OCI Solar Power has commenced the construction work on 110MW Alamo 6 solar plant located in Pecos County, Texas.

Spread across 1,200 acre area on private land, the plant is a part of a 400MW OCI Solar Power complex, which is being developed for CPS Energy.

OCI Solar has signed an agreement with CPS Energy, which includes creation of 800 long-term jobs in the San Antonio area while the constructing phase is expected to generate 250 temporary jobs in Pecos County.

The project will be developed, owned and operated by OCI Solar Power and it will be constructed by US based Mortenson Construction.

The dual-axis tracker system required for the plant will be supplied by Sun Action Trackers, and the solar modules will be made by Mission Solar Energy while the inverters are to be supplied by KACO new energy.

The 400MW project includes seven worksites and Alamo 6 is the largest, the company said.
