UK focused renewable company Renewable Energy Generation (REG) has signed a contract with Juwi Renewable to supply equipments for its solar project at Mendennick, Cornwall, UK.

Under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, Juwi will be responsible for supply, installation and commissioning of equipment at the 2.6MW ground-mounted solar PV project

Apart from the EPC contract, Juwi has also been awarded a five-year contract to provide long-term operations and maintenance services at the farm.

The construction work at the solar farm has started and it is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Upon completion, the project is expected to generate 2.7GWh of energy per annum, and it will operate under the small-scale feed-in-tariff regime.

Renewable Energy Generation CEO Andrew Whalley said: "Mendennick is part of a 132.4MW pipeline of consented wind, bio power and solar projects at various stages of procurement and construction which, once commissioned, will increase REG’s total renewable power generating capacity to 243.6MW.

"We are therefore on course to materially increase our diversified portfolio of 111MW of operational renewable energy projects, and in the process transform REG’s revenue profile and already substantial asset backing."

REG said that the project is in line with its target to increase its existing 111MW of operational UK renewable energy projects, including wind, bio-power and solar energy to 300MW within three years.
