Solar PV module maker Canadian Solar said that its subsidiary Canadian Solar Solutions has completed construction at the 100MW utility-scale Grand Renewable Solar Project located in Haldimand, Ontario.
The solar farm is claimed to be the largest in Canada and it features 445,000 units of CS6X MaxPower high-performance modules that were manufactured in Ontario.

Samsung Renewable Energy, Connor, Clark & Lunn Infrastructure and Six Nations of the Grand River jointly own the project.
Canadian Solar provided engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the Project.
The farm will be capable of producing approximately 170,000 MWh of electricity per year which is expected to be enough to meet the need of 17,000 homes.
After becoming operational, the project is expected to help in reducing 162,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the 20-year period.

By GlobalDataGrand Renewable Solar Project has already entered into a power purchase agreement with The Independent Electricity System Operator, which is responsible for day-to-day operation of Ontario’s electrical system.
Canadian Solar chairman Dr. Shawn Qu said: "The completion of this utility-scale solar farm, the largest operational one in Canada, is a culmination of three years of strategic business planning, coordinated efforts, and tenacious work on the part of Canadian Solar.
"We are extremely excited to see this project come to fruition, especially given the solar farm’s substantial economic and environmental benefits for Canada."
