CWind has been awarded a contract to supply two crew transfer vessels for the London Array offshore wind project, which has capacity to generate 630MW of renewable energy.

The two crew transfer vessels named CWind Alliance and CWind Artimus will operate from Ramsgate in Kent.

The London Array offshore wind project is situated 20km off the Kent coast in the outer Thames Estuary.

CWind Alliance has already provided services to London Array offshore wind farm in 2012 while CWind Artimus will deliver its service to the farm for the first time.

The 22m CWind Artimus is powered by IPS and can carry up to 30t payload or 24,000l fuel.

London Array wind farm started power generation in October 2012 and became fully operational in April 2013.

The project was implemented in two phases, and phase one has enough capacity to generate power for 500,000 British homes.
