SunEdison has started construction on 156MW Comanche Solar project in Pueblo, Colorado, which is going to be one the biggest projects for the company to date.
The company has also closed the financing for the project which will produce more than 300 GWh of energy a year, enough to power 30,000 Colorado homes.

The plant will also help cutting down 478 million pounds of carbon dioxide emission from the environment.
SunEdison has already entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement with Xcel Energy’s subsidiary Public Service Company of Colorado.
The power contract was awarded as part of an open tender and Comanche Solar was selected as preferred to other forms of energy, including natural gas.
The construction of the farm has already started and Broomfield based Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES) will manage it.
