As part of the service and maintenance category included in the order, Siemens will provide its advanced remote monitoring and diagnostics to the Western Plains wind farm.
The project is expected to generate enough energy to power around 100,000 average households in the US.
Siemens will build the wind turbine blades for the project at its blade manufacturing site in Fort Madison, Iowa, with the assembly of nacelles will be carried out at its Kansas-based plant.
In the state of Kansas, around one million households receive electricity from wind power projects.

By GlobalDataSo far, Siemens has installed more than 5,000 wind turbines in the US and those turbines can power over 2.5 million homes.
Siemens will install its SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines and each unit features 2.3MW power rating and 53m blades.
Siemens wind power and renewables division onshore CEO Thomas Richterich said: "Wind power is becoming an increasingly important part of the U.S. energy mix.
"We are looking forward to working with Westar Energy on this large and important project. Continued technological innovation to drive down cost along with recent congressional action providing long-term certainty for renewable energy sets the stage for continued wind power growth in America."
In December last year, Westar Energy announced to add around 300MW to its wind energy portfolio in the near future.
In order to reach its goal, Westar collaborated with Infinity Wind Power to build the Western Plains wind farm.
