Enel Group’s renewable energies division Enel Green Power (EGP) has acquired Amec Foster Wheeler Power from Amec Foster Wheeler Italiana for €21m.

The deal was completed following a preliminary sale agreement signed between the companies in December last year.

Amec Foster Wheeler Italiana owns two wind farms that are situated in Vallesaccarda and Scampitella and have a total of 54.5MW capacity.

The farms are capable of generating around 90GWh per year and will enable EGP to add around 718MW of installed wind capacity currently operated by the company in Italy.

EGP currently has14GW of installed capacity in Italy.The capacity includes around 772MW of wind power, 23MW of direct and 360MW of indirect solar power projects.

Over the coming years, the company is planning to further increase its total installed capacityin Italy.

Last month, Enel Green Power North America (EGPNA) subsidiary Rock Creek Wind signed a tax equity agreement, worth around $365m, with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan for the 300MW Rock Creek wind farm located in Missouri, US.

As part of the deal, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan will contribute the agreed amount to the wind farm’s owner Rock Creek in exchange for 100% of ‘Class B’ equity interests in the project.
