Jacobs Engineering Group is set to perform the project management and owners engineers’ roles for Powering Australian Renewables Fund’s (PARF) proposed 200MW wind farm located in Australia.
The $356m Silverton Wind Farm in Western New South Wales will produce about 780,000MW hours of renewable energy a year from its 58 turbines.
The energy produced is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 655,000t per year.
Jacobs Engineering Group senior vice-president Patrick Hill said: “In wind, we have completed hundreds of projects globally and we have an extensive history in this market in Australia, especially working with AGL.
“This project builds on the support we have provided AGL in the renewables market, delivering two of Australia’s largest solar power plants at Nyngan and Broken Hill.
“Jacobs will provide leading edge project management capabilities combined with our engineering skills to help AGL deliver this landmark project.”

Equity partners in the partnership are AGL and QIC, on behalf of its clients, sovereign wealth fund Future Fund and those invested in the QIC Global Infrastructure Fund.
