Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has secured a deal to supply 310 different types of wind turbines for five onshore wind projects in the US.
The company will deliver wind turbines with various output ratings and rotor diameters for projects, which have combined capacity of more than 780MW.
As part of the deal, the company will supply a total of 92 units of the SWT-2.3-108, 144 units of the SWT-2.625-120 and 74 units of the G126-2.625 MW wind turbines for installation at various project sites.
The five onshore wind projects will have capacity to produce clean electricity required to power almost 240,000 homes in the US.

By GlobalDataThe company intends to assemble the nacelles and hubs for the SWT-2.3-108 and SWT-2.625-120 at its factory in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Majority of the blades for these projects will be produced at the company’s blade facility in Fort Madison, Iowa, US.
In the US, the company has installed over 9,000 wind turbines with combined capacity of more than 17GW.
